Inishowen Penisula

The Inishowen peninsula is one of Ireland’s untapped gems and can be easily covered in one day from Derry. Depart in the morning for the Victorian resort of Buncrana to visit the picturesque Swan Park and evocative Lough Swilly (also known as the ‘Lake of Shadows’). Take the Wild Atlantic Way scenic route past Dunree military museum (one of the optional stops on the tour) to travel through the breathtaking Mamore Gap en route to the breathtaking Pollan beach in Ballyliffin where you can take in the Atlantic air.
Visit the Doagh Famine Village where the story of famine, fear and eviction is recounted along with traditions like the old Irish wakehouse (admission fee applies). On departure travel through
Carndonagh and Malin Town for Malin Head, Irelands most northerly point with its spectacular
scenery and cliff walks. Malin Head was also used to film scenes for Star Wars Episode so you will have the chance to get a photo and beer at the Yoda mural on walls of Farrens Pub (Irelands most northerly bar)!
Then continue along the Wild Atlantic Way to Greencastle, home of Napoleonic Martello Towers, a maritime museum and the famous ruins of Northburgh castle. Complete the day with a visit to Moville where the story of emigration is recounted and shoreside walks are available before returning to Derry.
