Our journey begins with a drive through county Donegal before we stop in Donegal town for a short walk around the town centre and break. We then continue into county Sligo where we visit the grave of Nobel literature winner W.B. Yeats at Drumcliffe, under the shadow of the imposing and mystical Benbulben mountain. We then continue to the breathtaking Glencar waterfall before departing for Sligo town where lunch is available in one of the many cafes, pubs and restaurants in the town. Our final stop is Lissadell House for a guided tour of the home of Irish Republican leader and 1916 Rising heroine Countess Markievicz (small admission fee applies). Before we return to Derry we stop in Bundoran, Ireland’s premier seaside and surfing resort for a brisk walk along the seafront alongside the rolling Atlantic waves.
